Born and raised on Whidbey Island, I have been fortunate to grow up surrounded by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. My journey in education began in 1995 as an afternoon toddler teacher at Kirkland Children's School, our sister school. Over the years, I’ve worked in various capacities within Newport Children’s School, Inc., which has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally. I joined Sammamish Children’s School in 2004 and am honored to serve as its director, fostering an environment where children and families feel supported and inspired.
I have a deep love for travel, which has allowed me to explore many parts of the world and gain a rich appreciation for diverse cultures and experiences. One of my favorite children’s books is Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. Its celebration of imagination and adventure inspires me to nurture curiosity and creativity in young learners every day. Traveling and reading have taught me the value of connecting with children and empowering them to explore the world around them.
Education: My educational background includes a BA in Behavioral Science from Northwest University and a MA in Early Childhood Education from Eastern Washington University.
Experience: My professional experience spans nearly three decades within the Newport Children’s School Inc. family, with roles at Kirkland Children’s School, Early World Children’s School, and Sammamish Children’s School.

I have been passionate about working with children in early childhood settings for many years and find great joy in watching them feel empowered as they learn and grow. At Sammamish Children’s School, I’ve worn many hats since joining in 2012, including roles as a before/after care teacher, summer camp leader, closing supervisor, office manager, and now enrollment coordinator. My role allows me to connect with families and create a nurturing, supportive environment where children thrive.
Outside of work, I enjoy riding horses, hiking, traveling, watching football, and spending time with friends and family. Some of my favorite children’s authors include Shel Silverstein, Maurice Sendak, Ian Woodward Falconer, and Mo Willems. Each of their works reminds me of the power of storytelling to inspire and engage young learners.
Education: My educational background includes an AA in Arts & Science and a Certificate in Project Management, both from Bellevue College.
Experience: Before joining SCS, I was a lead teacher for preschool, pre-kindergarten, and afterschool programs at Lakemont Academy in Bellevue, WA.

I grew up in Alaska, where I developed a love of the outdoors, fishing, and winter sports. After college in Colorado, I worked in a corporate role before staying home to raise my four kids. I returned to work teaching a STEM PreK class and eventually transitioned to the administrative side of early childhood education.
My youngest two children(identical twins) are business and engineering students at CalPoly. My older two are business and engineering graduates from Gonzaga and Purdue. We are avid Seahawks, Mariners, and Kraken fans, and we cherish the moments we can all be together.
A few of my favorite activities include traveling, cooking, yoga, running, golfing, and spending time with my family. I also volunteer for Make-A-Wish Washington and Alaska. My favorite children’s book is Goodnight Moon, and I enjoy card games, Yahtzee, and cribbage.
Education: My professional background includes a Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University, a Certificate in Women’s Leadership from Gonzaga University, and a Certificate in Special Needs and Inclusive Education from Colorado State University.
Experience: My early childhood education experience spans roles as a PreK STEM Instructor, Billing Specialist, Program Manager, and now Program Director at SCS.

Born in Okinawa, Japan, and raised in Sammamish, I have had the privilege of being a part of Sammamish Children’s School since 2014. I am passionate about creating a welcoming and supportive environment for our families and staff. Every day, I strive to ensure that our school runs smoothly so that we can provide the best possible experience for the children and families we serve.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, exploring new parks and museums, and traveling. My favorite children’s book is The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats—it beautifully captures the wonder and simplicity of childhood exploration, something I cherish in my own life and work.
Education: My background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from Western Washington University, as well as ongoing STARS continued education.
Experience: I began my journey here as a preschool teacher, a role I held for six years, before transitioning to billing and office management in 2020.
